“The scans are only as good as the radiologist who reads them.”
Have you ever heard this axiom about diagnostic imaging?
Regardless of the state-of-the-art, cutting edge technology that Derry Imaging uses for all its exams—X-ray, ultrasound, CT, 3D mammography, MRI and more—our exceptional quality is directly related to the expertise of our onsite, fellowship trained radiologists. Their expertise includes sub-specialty fellowships in breast imaging, women’s imaging, musculoskeletal imaging, neuroradiology, body imaging and interventional radiology.
Not only are our doctors all fellowship trained in specialty areas, they are onsite at each of our facilities to read and interpret the scans and X-rays. This is a distinction that some facilities cannot claim—and it is the difference that distinguishes Derry Imaging among other independent diagnostic providers.
Dr. Mark Goldshein, one of the Associated Radiologists who work at Derry Imaging, was named as a New Hampshire Magazine Top Doctor in 2017 and 2010, in addition to Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors of 2012-2013.
He is fellowship trained in breast imaging, and vascular and interventional radiology. Derry Imaging performs over 12,000 mammograms a year, plus thousands of biopsies, and is proud to have earned the designation as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. As a matter of fact, Associated Radiologists was the first group in the state of New Hampshire to implement and perform stereotactic biopsies (a biopsy done under the guidance of mammography).
Derry Imaging Center provides our patients with the complete array of breast imaging techniques including digital screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI and breast biopsy. There are separate mammography suites in each of our three locations, which are comfortable, welcoming, and gracious. Our facilities are American College of Radiology (ACR) accredited in all modalities.
Our equipment is state-of-the art, including the latest FDA approved breast tomosynthesis, also known as 3-D mammography, computer aided detection (ICAD). Our breast MRI exams are performed to ensure maximal lesion detection and patient comfort. If an abnormality is identified on any imaging examination, follow-up imaging and/or biopsy will be arranged to determine if the area is benign or malignant. All of our imaging-guided procedures are performed with expert technique and with patient comfort in mind.
Patient care at Derry Imaging goes well beyond the technology too. We have Certified Breast Health Nurse Navigators onsite to guide any patient facing the uncertainty of an abnormal finding in a mammogram. From the first notification of a finding, and continuing through any biopsy, surgery or post-surgical treatment, our Nurse Navigators are right there by the side of the patient, offering caring guidance and support in navigating the unfamiliar waters of a cancer diagnosis.
Breast cancer affects one in every eight women, and remains a major cause of mortality in women in the United States. Our primary goal is to detect breast cancer at the earliest and most treatable stage while minimizing anxiety and discomfort for our patients.
